i have a large concrete slab for a patio off my back door. the slab has been cracked more or less down the middle of this roughly 17' x 8' and the peice closests to the house is leaning toward the foundation causing all runoff to head toward the house. I would like to do the whole thing in patio pavers and am wondering what the best method is to go about this.
i have heard that you can do pavers directly over the concrete but this will not solve the runoff issue. any experts that can help are thanked.
ps i did not search for previous threads on this so if this is an exhausted subject i apologize.

Tear out the entire patio and put in a 6" (minimum) thickness of compacted road base that slopes away from the house.

Then, you can use a 1" sand setting bed for the pavers and lay the pavers.

If you have good access, it might be cheaper to hire someone to tear out the concrete and haul it away than to try to do it yourself, unless you happen to have the equipment.
