Is there any way I can replace a can light with a ceiling electrical box so I can attach a track light fixture? Even if I can mount a ceiling box the next problem is the 6" hole in the sheet rock where the 4" track mounting cover goes. I hope some of you have some good ideas since I don't want to do any sheet rock patching. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums! You have precluded any help from us, since you are unwilling to do any sheetrock patching. We can help, step by step to do it right, but you set the ground rules.

You need to patch the hole so it is not so big.

Patching drywall can seem overwhelming, but it's not as hard as you think. Some stores sell 2x2 sheets for repairs. You can buy pre-mixed drywall mud; they even have mud that‘s less dusty when you sand it. Finally, you can buy texture spray that comes in an aerosol can.
