I have a pellet stove that was installed into an existing chimney about three years ago and I've started to notice that it's been leaking soot all over the place - on the curtains, on the tv. It's been professionally cleaned every year.
I phoned a technician who asked me about the quality of the pellets but I've tried a few different varieties and that doesn't seem to help. The house is fairly air tight - having been built in the 70's; I don't know if that makes any difference, but the flame is weak and smoky when it starts up.
Any ideas?
