Hello all & Chuck:

I've worked on riders so long that I forgot how to replace the belt on a Poulan/Weedeater model We651SHB if I ever knew? Well the belt is easy IF you can get the assembly that the blade attaches to off. I didn't want to just start banging and pulling so I'm asking for help instead!

My thanks in advance, Ron

Hey there Ron!

It should just pull off, but....they often don't. Sometimes you can bang on them a little to get them to cooperate, or put a longer blade bolt back in the hole until it bottoms out, then bang on the bolt while pulling on the blade adapter. This usually works. In extreme cases, I've had to heat the adapter. If you have to do that, I suggest replacing the bottom crankshaft seal after you get it off, since the heat may ruin the existing one. If you have an air powered impact hammer, it can persuade the adapter off easily most of the time (provided you have enough room to get a good angle on it).

Hope that helps some:) .
