I have two antique-like wall lamps that use shades that clip around the bulb. Is it possible to modify these to use the new flourescent types?

sounds like a trial and error situation, either take the shade with you to parts store and try it on a compact flour. lamp, or buy 1 and try it.I have two antique-like wall lamps that use shades that clip around the bulb. Is it possible to modify these to use the new flourescent types?

Many of the new fluorescent lamps have a glass enclosure very much like the incandescent bulbs. Might have to stretch the clips a tab to get the shades on.
