Hi, I am taking down our wallpaper. I am wondering if DIF solution is safe if it gets on my wood bookshelves that will be impossible to cover. I also have wood floors and carpets, and it is possible the solution could drip onto those. Do I have to worry about staining?

Also, is it easier to spray on the DIF with a spray bottle or bug sprayer... or something else perhaps? I have no help doing this, I have to do it, so I'm just trying to figure out the best way and get to it.
Thanks for any help.

PS - I have no idea what kind of wallpaper it is or what is underneath, I'll figure this out next week when I go back to the home we're trying to sell. *sigh*

Welcome to the forums Melissa!

I usually just use hot water but no matter what you use you need to cover up what you can. Even with just water the disolved adhesive will get on the floors or other items if not covered up.

Bottom line is it is a lot easier to use drop cloths and plastic than it is to clean up an unnecessary mess!
