hi, i am renovating my bathroom where i need to do the following:
replace the bath, toilet and sink with new ones.
get a cupboard built around the central heating boiler.
rip off the wallpaper and existing tiles and have it retiled and plastered.
get new flooring put in.
replace existing light/fan with a new one.
i need to know what order i should do the work needed as i will be doing the labour work myself, and then what order the tradesmen will work in so it all works out properly. any help appreciated. thanks.

Welcome to the forums! As a pro:eek:, I find the best thing to do is do without the bathroom for the entire time of the remodel. In other words move down the hall. Take everything out of the bathroom including sheetrock, floor covering, tile, toilet, sink, vanity, and tub/shower (if you intend to change it out, sometimes we don't). You want to start with a clean slate, swept and vacuumed. Then stand back and do your measuring. Do any plumbing changes, electrical changes, vent vans, etc. first. Basically you are working from within the cavities of the vacated walls forward, one layer at a time. Sheetrock (ceiling and walls), durock and other wall coverings next. Floor covering, then fixtures. Sounds simple in words, but it ain't. Doing anything this extensive is worth doing from the basics. You will be pleased with the results. Good luck with your project, and by all means let us know if we can help if you need us.

thanks for the reply...
so in a nutshell, i should chip away all the current tiles and wallpaper, remove all current flooring so i am left only with the current bath/toilet/sink.... then firstly, swap over the existing bath/toilet/sink fromold to new and then get the walls re plastered/ repaired, then the tiling done next, and finish finally with new flooring??

Nope, pull the fixtures and leave them out of your work area. Nothing is worse than working around a commode or pedestal sink, etc. Remember, one layer at at time from the inside of the walls out.
