Looking for best practice suggestion...

I've got a 82" master bath vanity that is tiled with 4" tiles on top of 1" particle board. I'm ripping the whole thing out and replacing with new cabinet and a solid surface. Problem is that the tiles at glued with maybe liquid nails and by no means are able to pop off. I hate to get too nasty with it because the backsplash is a 4 inch tile and the mirror basically sits right on that and I'm wanting the leave the mirror intact and not broken. I've got the sinks out and ready to go. Any suggestions on how to take this top off?

Look underneith the cabinet. Most counter tops are only screwed into place, so look for them.

If it's glued, you can take a sawzall with a flexible blade and run it between the counter top and the cabinets.

If that's out of the guestions, get a cold chisel and a hammer.


Make sure your new tile counter top is not glued onto particle board next time either......
