I'm at the point where I'm about to install cement backer board (Durock) over my tub in an alcove. I trial fitted the cement board against my back wall and noticed the the cbb is a snug fit but does fit without trimming.

My question is:
Can I install the back wall snugly first and then leave a small gap if necessary for the inside corners when putting up the sides?

Also if I can do it like this how much of a gap is required for an inside corner?

If I cant do it like this how much room do I need to leave for the back where the cbb meets the studs?
Thanks
Sean
