Hi ALL,

My beloved J-100 is smoking and it appears the logs are disintegrating (black soot and bits of the logs are falling to the bottom and black smoke is marking the wall behind it.)

I thought all I needed to do was to get new logs since the stove is over 40 years old, but I called Jotul and it appears that they don't make the logs for the J-100 any more (parts # A4 772154 and A4 772156).

My question to you all is have you had this problem, and if so, what have you done about it? I thought I could jury rig something using other logs but my local dealer says that isn't a good idea.

I *really* don't want to have to get rid of my favorite stove. Any advice you can offer is much appreciated!!!:)

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Julie
