Hi,
I'm replacing my gas oven and there's no shut off valve. When I turn off the main valve at the meter I assume that I'll also have to turn off the valves to the water heater, dryer, and furnace so that I can relight the pilots when I turn the gas back on without a surge of gas. Am I on the right track and are there any other precautions? Thanks.
Mike

I would give some thought to calling the gas co to do the relights. They will do a line check for leaks at the same time.
