Hi all.
I recently purchased a place that has a slew of recessed lighting.

Problem:
i have an outdoor recessed lighting/high hat that uses a flood light. Do they make any light sensing socket long enough to be functional or that are completely expose so the light sensor will work. the ones im finding are rather short and once plugged in, the high hat will hide the sensor.

Alternative, not sure if it will work, but please help:
can i buy a socket extension, plug this in the high hat first then plug the light sensing socket then plug in the flood light? will this be dangerous

Thanks all

Probably not, since the sensor would have to be exposed to the light, and that would mean outside the recessed light can. Are the lights switched? If so, is the switch inside or out? Are the lights under a soffiting? Are they accessible from above? These answers will help us to help you put a light sensor on them.

the light switch are in the house. i am reluctant to change it because the switch is paired up wth another light in the house. I want to save some work.
There is no access from above as this fixture is under an awning in front of the house.
Thanks again.
