Our home's elevation is at about 9500 ft. We have many casement windows. The problem is that we can feel air coming in when they are shut. Its very dry in CO. so condensation is not the problem. Wind chill had us at about 26 degrees below the other night and propane is not cheap.

Will we have to replace these or is there a way to seal them?

Thanks

Not an easy solution. Log homes present a completely different set of problems, since they are always sinking and shrinking. I assume these are quality double glass with Lo-E/argon or such?? If there is trim on the inside, remove it and seal the spaces around the windows with non-expanding foam such as DAP foam, or fiberglass insulation(don't pack tightly, just fill gaps). I don't like urethane foam for this type application. I am also assuming that the chinking is OK????

Thanks Bill.

Yes they are double paned. We will give this a try.
