Doors and Windows - leaking windows

i bought a 1994 mobil home in oct o7.i moved in to it in dec o7. when the snow melts or we get rain the windows leak fomr the inside windows.there are double windows in mobil homes.what should be done to stop this??

Is the water coming thru [or around] the outer storm window? or is this leak coming thru the roof or siding above the window?

Check the drip flashing - kind of like a miniture gutter, and make sure it isn't bent or in a shape that would send water to, instead of away from the window. Also check the caulking around the exterior of the window.

on mobile homes, it's common to see some bad flashing techniques. You probably have a piece of annodized aluminum that has been bent to make up the drip edge, fascia, soffit, and then it probably runs down the wall a ways behind the siding. If you have a roof leak, or it's flat enough to draw water up by capillary action, water can get behind that annodized aluminum flashing/soffit/fascia, and it makes a pathway for water to get in.

To see if there's water getting in there, try drilling a hole in the front bottom corner of your fascia. I'm guessing that maybe some water will run out when you pull the drill bit out.

It could also be a roof leak that is causing it.

Or maybe someone just slapped the windows onto the siding without sealing the nailing fin in any way. Hard to tell without seeing it.
