Now then,
I've had a roofer in to try and fix a leaky chimney pot. They have refluanched (sp?) around the pot which has reduced the leak significantly but when it rains heavily it still drips. The roofer says this is due to condensation. But the chinmey is no longer in use and is purely decorative so there is no warm air rising to cause condensation and the dripps sound to big for condensation anyway. However, this is one of four chinmeys. Two are ours and two belong to our next door neighboroughs - I don't know if they use their fires? he didn't reflaunch the neighboroughs side of the stack. Also, it only dripps when it rains. The stack has been repointed and as far as I can see the flashing is fine. Is the roofer right? If not what are the solutions?
