The engine on my tiller lopes. By that I mean it runs faster then slower, back and forth. I seem to remember that this is caused by a too rich mixture, or a too lean mixture. I can't remember which. Anyone know?

I'm thinking the mixture is too lean. You did'nt give any engine numbers, but if it's a tecumseh you may get away with cleaning the bowl bolt. Look around a few past posts. Geogrubb has an excellent link to a pic that shows the holes. If it's a Briggs, give the engine numbers, than the Pros know what you have for a carb!! Good luck,,Roger
