I have a leaky hot water faucet in the shower, but only when it is turned on. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks
Jeff

Leaky where, around the shaft?? If yes, there is usually and o-ring or packing around the shaft and often a nut to compress the packing. Tighten the compression nut or replace the o-ring.

just bill is right. open the valve a little before tightening the packing nut so as not to damage the seal.
