Installed new Amana 2 stage furnace 95 effeciant Model AMH951155DX. I'm told because it has all the latest technology I do not need a 2 stage Thermostat. Everything is controlled on the main board of the furnace itself. Is this correct? It has been keeping the house comfortable, runs for longer periods of time. Whe he connected the aprilair humidifier it stopped working. I turned off the humdif and it works fine again. He said he would be back, maybe pulling too much amperage off board will re-wire differently. Does this sound correct?

Correct, (If the dip switches are set up right) this model you got will not allow you to use a two stage stat if you wanted to.. (I am not sold on that type! I'd rather have t-stat control the heat as needed.) The 2nd stage will fire off anywhere between 1 or 12 min.. depends on the last call of heat history.

Sounds like it's wired wrong.. One wire should be tied to the pressure switch's HUM wire, and other wire should be tied to C on the board.
