I have an acid neutralizing system for my home it's filled with a calcium medium once a year.
This is a well water system.
After the neutralizing system, I have a GE Smartwater filter which I change every 2 months and there is hardly anything on it. (I've examined it closely)
Every month or so, I have to take the hot water hose off of the washing machine and clean the screen in the machine. The same goes for my Dishwasher. Every month I have to take to intake hoses out and clean the screen on the valve that regulates the incoming hot water.
The substance that I remove from the Washing Machine and Dishwasher screens is white, sandy stuff just like the medium that is in the acid neutralizer. There is never any of the substance in the cold water inlet on the washing machine. My faucet screens are also clogged with the same stuff.
I suspect that the "dissolved" medium re-crystalizes after it's heated and clogs all of the screens.
Question
1) Is my suspicion correct about re-crystalization?
2) If so, what can be done
3) If I'm wrong, what is it and what can be done.
Thanks...............
