To get this house ready to sell, apparently they grouted over everything. In the shower corners, in the separate tub. I have removed the caulk which was on top of the grout. The grout is broken in many places. What do I do?

Scrape out the caulk and damaged grout and regrout all of the field joints. Use caulk wherever there is a change of direction or material.

As you are doing, remove the grout from the corners, even if you have to use a dental pick. Wipe down the corners with alcohol in order to clean the area. Allow the shower/tub to completely (that means completely) dry, even if you have to place a fan in the area to help it out. Anything you place on top of water will mildew. Then apply a small bead of GE Silicone II (or equivalent) and smooth it out. Allow to dry for a couple of days. You should be ready to take a shower by then.

Thanks for the info. New problem is that the gap is really wide. Any suggestions?
