Home, Land, Property Buying and Selling - Increase Value???

I was planning to do the following to my home and I was wondering if it would increase my house value and by approximately how much?

1) Install whole house air cleaner to forced air system
2) Install whole house humidifier to forced air system
3) Tile backsplash on Kitchen walls
4) Tile ceilings to two bathroom tubs. I only have tiling on the tub walls and not the ceiling.

I hate to break it to you, but - the modifications you propose tend to fall under "cosmetic" issues... and won't raise the value of your home by much, if at all. They will help with the "curb appeal", so to speak, helping make the future sale potentially quicker - but not for more $$. I've bought/sold/renovated/flipped numerous homes over the past few years - and the only sure way to increase value (assuming your house was in good condition when you bought it) is to add square footage/bathrooms/remodel kitchens. Most other improvements will/might return your initial investment - but just barely.
