I have a rainsoft conditioner 'bout 12 yrs old. Have been getting very salty tasting water after regen. It usually goes away after some water usage, but I can still taste some salt. Someone told me resin might be clumped and the proper reaction might not be taking place. Do I stir up the resin bed, change the resin, is something clogged......
Thanks for any help.

Pull the drain line off the control valve to make sure it isn't clogged with sediment (bypass the system first). That exact thing happened to my old softener and that was the problem.
