I need to know if a faux finish like frottage or ragging would work on a heavily textured wall. I would prefer to do the frottage look, where you use plastic wrap to complete the look, but am open to any faux that would work on these walls. Please help......

Dear Gemhome,

I can't say I've tried this, but I'm guessing it would work. You won't get the same effect you would on a smooth wall. If you're going to paint anyway, why not give it a go? If you don't like it you can paint over it. It's lots of fun to experiment. One thing--I think you get a nicer look if you go with colors fairly close to one-another, both on the color wheel and on the brightness scale. But I like a more subtle effect and you might feel differently about this.

Good luck,

Cindy

I agree, you will get a different look but you may like it and if you don't paint over it. Don't forget about glazes though if you like your texture they can greatly change the looks
