Is there any difference between an electric water heater labeled as "mobile home" and a regular electric water heater? I have a tight space to fit a water heater and the only one in stock at the big orange box that fits is a "mobile home" heater. Thanks.

Might just be the size of the elements in it. Is all I can see. Have put just standard ones in trailers when had the room. Might look for the under counter kind also.

Small storage tank water heaters, known as point of use, utility or mobile home water heaters, are good choices for adding hot water to out buildings, shops or garages. Utility water heaters usually range in size from 2.5 to 19 gallons. The largest of these miniature units can also be used to provide hot water to secondary bathrooms that may be situated far from your home's main water heater.

The ones at HD are both 40 gallons, seem to have the same wattage/elements and dimensions. One is labeled mbile home the other isn't. I can't tell any difference other than the label, but thought there might be some nuance. Thanks.

I think it meets "standards" for a mobile home...how tight is your space?

A few years ago I had to replace the water heater in my stepson's mobile home. Lowes was out of MH 30 gal water heaters but had standard 30 gal heaters. I had to modify the water pipes a little because the inlet or outlet [maybe both - I forget] were located different.

About 19.5". I was looking for an 18" "tall" model and thats when i came across the mobile home model. Everyhting on the box looked the same as the tall but it was kust labeled different with a different model number.
