Im in the process of wiring Honeywell (hot water-gas) 3 Zones Honeywell 8043E to Honeywell Aquastat Relay Type L 8148E. There are 3 external wires, red, blue and white. Most of the wiring of zone valves and thermostat is complete. Red wire connects to TV jumpered to W. T is blue wire connection and Z is white wire 24 volts. Blue and white wire connected will start the furnace. Not sure where red or blue wire should go. Can you help. Thanks

Check the number on the aquastat again please... I don't think the 3 on the end is correct...

Are you replacing the aquastat with the same model ? Should've tagged the wires ...
or taken pics ...

Since it's a gas fired boiler, I suspect the aquastat is an
L8148E. Did a wiring diagram not come with the control?

I don't think TV should be jumpered to Z ...

Where are these three 'external wires' coming from ?

What boiler are you running ?

Internally the screw marked TV and the screw marked W is jumpered together and is the external red wire. T is the external blue wire and Z is the white wire that comes out is 24 volts. Im not sure where to hook up the red and blue wire neither one is a hot wire. The name of the furnace is Crown-Aruba which is a gas hot water heater. No, a wiring diagram did not come with the control. I have called Honeywell, no help. JPhelp

Here's a link to the manual. http://www.crownboiler.com/manuals/content/Residential_Boilers/Gas/Aruba%20(ABF-SPD,%20ABF-EID).pdf

Did you buy a used control on e-bay or something ?

They don't come from Honeywell with 'external wires', nor are they jumpered that way ...

Would you please check the model on the aquastat again and tell us if it is indeed an L 8148 E ? There is no such thing as an L81483 ... at least Honeywell doesn't recognize that number, and neither do I ...

Grady, you know them Crowns pretty well...(oops, crossed in the ether!)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here...

Take the three "external wires" off and throw them away.

Move the jumper from where it is to between Z and W .

Wire the RED wires from the endswitches of the zone valves to T and TV .

You used an external 40VA transformer to power the zone valves, correct ?
