Hi. My return air vents are in the ceiling. I bought new air filters. On them it reads "air flow" with an arrow pointing upwards. Which way does the air flow? I assumed I should put them in with the arrow pointing up to the ceiling. Then I started thinking maybe the air flows from the vent down into the house and the arrow should be pointing down to the floor.
Thanks for your help.

Arrow should face into the duct! Air is being pulled from the living space to your HVAC equipment!

It pays to put a new filter in every30 to 90 days. In heat or cool. The pleated kind is best and not over a MERV 5. We find that over a Merv 5 is hard on the blower motor.
