I installed a GE Smart Water filter GX1S01C on my cold water line of my kitchen sink. Now my water flow is about half what it used to be. Why?

Pressure Loss across the filter. Carbon block filtration at .5 to 1 microns, plain and simple, trying to squeeze a high flow rate through that small of filtration, there is going to be a pressure and flow loss. Also, some carbon block filters have a built in .6 gallon per minute flow control to achieve the specifications they advertise on the package. You could buy a seperate faucet and install the filter to supply only that faucet for drinking/cooking if you have room to drill another hole in your sink or have a spare hole you could use. Good Luck. TJ Hornet
