There are 15 amp switches and there are 20 amp switches. There are also other variously rated switches.

No, they are very spefic max rating on the switch itself.,, all the switches it don't matter if toggle , rotary , pushbutton, slider switch , etc etc all the switches do have rating of max amparage , max voltage it can be used,
and there are few diffrent grade of switches as well.

Most residential wall switches that control lights, receptacles, and fans are rated at 15 amps.
A 20-amp switch is rare these days.
