Doors and Windows - Window tint accessories

So..I'm looking to tint my window (french doors). Went to the store and found what I wanted but then there were installation kits. The squeegy thing I have at home, but what about the stuff in the bottle? Is that a good recommendation and/or really required? It was only less than $5 but if I could save some $$$ by just using homemade water/soap solution, I'm all for it. What's in the bottle? Water?:D

you can make a good solution using baby shampoo. 1 (one!) drop in a pint spray bottle is plenty.

Hope those french doors aren't divided lites...ouch that would be a pain.

Use plenty of spray, and put towels at the bottom to catch the runoff.

Remember, you won't be able to use anything like Windex and paper towels to clean the film after application. It will scratch it up and look nasty quickly.

Divided lites? What's that? If it's what I think it is...it's not. It's just one big glass-2 doors.:) What's the cost of baby shampoo? :D Hmmmm....wonder if I can buy the travel size...then the cost of gas $$$ and all.... Yeah...THAT, I don't have either. Rats! Thanks for the tip. I think I might just do that.

So...what can you clean the film with? That was one of my concerns too. I looked on the box and it didn't say anything (haven't bought it yet).

Don't know if thats the same brand, but most of the instructions are very similar.

Note: use "no-tears non-conditioner baby shampoo"

BTW divided lites are when the main glass is divided into smaller panes like a tic-tac-toe pattern. 6' french doors its very common to have 3 wide x 5 high pattern

As a matter of fact....that's the same brand I was looking at. Now...why didn't I think of looking up the info on-line???!!! Thanks for the all the info and definition of divided lites.:) I was thinking right too...the doors I have don't have divided lites. I could imagine how much work that'd be to do them and I'm ever so glad I don't!
