I don't want to go through the roof and the wall is not an option. can I install the fan in the bathroom ceiling and run the exhaust across my the attic and out the soffit?
The only difference I can see is that it will exhaust downward at the soffit instead of up or out like it would be in the roof or wall.

It really depends on the local building codes. It is possible to do as your saying but again it depends on the local building codes
