Hello,
This is a pretty trivial matter, but I don't live in their area so can't help them out by just going there and doing it.
A friend, who is totally non-mechanical, has to replace a mailbox on their wooden post that got knocked over. The box will sit on the horizontal portion of the post. The very standard configuration. For someone like them, this is a
"major" project.
I looked, but couldn't find any.
Anyone know of a link, or really good step-by-step instructions with pictures that they can follow to do it ?
As always, thanks for help.
(is this the best Forum here to ask this ?)
Thanks,
Bob

Bob, don't know of a link, but a horizontal board, usually a 1x8, cut slightly shorter than the mail box (to allow for the door to fall down), installed on the lateral arm of the post. Then the mailbox is attached from the sides with s/s screws. Now, I would have them check at the local big box store, as they carry the posts and the carriage plate, specifically made for certain sizes of mailboxes, which may make it easier for them to install.
