I am replacing an old Whitfield pellet stove in my cabin and I have come across a used Crossfire (free-standing) pellet stove. This stove was made by Thermic Inc. in Spokane, WA. (model FS-1). It is different than most pellet stoves in that the auger pushes the pellets up into the burn pot from underneath. I do not have an owners manual, Thermic is out of business and the only info I can find on the internet is that although this stove had a very high burn and efficiency rating, it also had design problems with the fire burning back into the hopper when you turn it off. Has anyone had experience with this stove? Are there workarounds for preventing a backfire into the hopper? If I end up using it, I will either need an owners manual or someone who can tell me how to use it. It appears to be fullly operational but has a minimum of controls and lots of electronics, along with a status light and alarm. It is actually in pretty good shape for a 1989 model but hard to figure out how to use.

Hello. I have an original manual for a Crossfire stove. I could scan it and send it to you . . if helpful. I used a Crossfire stove for a season, in my shop, now gives an error code (air leak) that I can't seem to resolve. Just listed the stove on Craigslist for $50. Happy to make a copy of the manual before it goes down the road thou . . Regards, Kevin

i have crossfire pellet stove and it works great except when it comes time to shut it of, the best way i have found is to empty all the pellets out of the hopper and let it burn itself out

I have the same crossfire fs1 pellet stove. I bought this stove at an auction sale and have not been able to use it because I do not know what the three wires coming out of the computer board plugs into. The other is self explanitory that plugs into a 110 outlet to operate the fan. If you could help me in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.My email is jimanderson@rap.midco.net
