I am replacing my wood burning fireplace that vents through the roof with a Heat&Glo high efficiency system that vents through the wall. What issues will I have with the old venting system that I expect to cut off several feet above the new system and cap off. Eventually I will seal the top opening too. When I remove the old firplace do I need to worry about the old venting system coming down? What are my options and issues.
