IM looking to upgrade or replace my old aluminum mil storm windows. THey are looking pretty nasty on the house.
Can anyone recommend a good quality storm window that wont kill the wallet? I was looking at the Larson Storm windows at Home Depot but know nothing about them. The gold series look to be pretty good but its hard to tell from the floor display.
I know Harvey makes some of the best but they are also big $$$.
Ill be replacing at least 6 storm windows.
Any thoughts or definate DO NOTs?

If the appearance of the windows is your only concern, why not paint them? DTM (direct to metal) paints would be the ticket.

From an energy saving and looks standpoint, replace the old windows with new higher efficiency windows and you can do away with the storms. And better windows will save 15-25% on energy bills over single glazed windows w/storms.

And you would only be looking at probably 3 times the cost of the storm windows, and a permanent fix, which will add beauty to the exterior of the house, and won't be such a PITA to upkeep. Replacement windows.
