You might get a laugh out of this one. I was doing a drywall repair behind the toilet. When I started to stand up, I banged my head against the porcelain tank and it cracked. It had absolutely no effect on my thick skull; no bruises or marks, no pain. Just a cracked toilet tank. The crack is above the water line. Can the crack be repaired, or is it best to buy a new toilet tank? The crack is on the inside and outside of tank.

Do these porcelain tanks normally crack this easily?

A buddy of mine broke the bowl on one once back in our college days, but he was puking so hard he didn't feel it either. Porcelain is tough and fragile at the same time. Hit it just right and it is history. Now as for your problem, you will have to replace the entire toilet, as repairing or replacing just the tank will be nearly impossible.
