How would you figure out how many tons of asphalt you need to resurface driveway. I have a asphalt driveway that needs resurface and I was just trying to get an idea before I call out the experts so I don't have total sticker shock. Thanks for your help.

You will be better off getting several bids. The cost of a driveway is not just the tons of asphalt, but includes removal/preparation and placement with the necessary equipment that contractors have.

You may want to check out a concrete driveway if you are considering a new driveway. It may be more, but will last longer wothout the constsnt maintenance. The price of oil had had a real influence on the cost of asphalt.

If you are a DIYer, you can look at interlocking concrete pavers that are more of a DIY project that you can do at your own pace and schedule.
