I need assistance on two fronts.
I am remodeling my kitchen and have found online a kitchen sink named Ticor at Galaxy Tool Supply. It is 16 gauge 304 stainless and is only $230. This is half the price of an 18 gage Kindred, Elkay, Oliveri or Kohler. Does any one have any experience with these.
I also have an odor of sulpher in my bathrook sink. It appears mostly in the morning and evening after the sink has not been used for several hours. The drain has a trap and a long horizontal run to the wall. It is noticeable when you start running the water. It is the only location in the house where that occurs so I don't think it is the water. Any ideas.
Thanks

No experience with the Ticor, but maybe some of the other guys have. As far as the smell, it is most likely decomposing hair. Some drain cleaners help, but I am not a big advocate of these chemicals, especially on a septic system. You kill all your enzymes. The best way to get it clean is to take it apart from the tailpiece of the sink to the swing arm, drop it all in a bucket and take it outside to be cleaned thoroughly. Sometimes this stuff is so bad it will gag a maggot, so quite often I just replace it all. It isn't that expensive.

I would stay away from Ticor sinks as well as Galaxy Tool Supply. Galaxy Tool Supply claims that the Ticor sinks are 16 gauge. But if you look carefully, you will notice that many of the sinks are described as 16 gauge/1.2mm thick. 16 gauge actually equals to 1.5mm. 1.2mm is really 18 gauge! If this is intentional, then they are cheating. If this is by mistake, then they are probably clueless about the products they are selling.

If the smell presists then it is probably stuff stuck in the long horizontal run to the wall, so remove the trap and clean that run real good or just replace it.
