There is a section of my wall that I want to paint in a metallic. It is going to be Brown, metallic, brown seperated by a small moulding.
Anyway, I want to make the metallic start darker and gradually become lighter as though a light is shining on it. I'm curious for advice on how to achieve this look. I was thinking of paining a matching base coat in flat and then sponging on a very thin coat of a darker color or black to gradually darken the outside edge, getting lighter as I work in to create this shadow effect. Then I would paint the semi Opaque Metallic in chosen color on top. Does anyone think this will work or have any other ideas?
My other thought is to use my airbrus to create the shadow but that would be a HUGE pain. The key is to keep this well blended witout being able to see any lines or transitions.
