I cannot tell how large this unit is. On the compressor, I see GH513-jk1-GA and the unit measures 32Hx25x29 (ish). It was installed in 1993 but I don't have any documentation on it. Do I need to take something apart to get the model number?
Our house is 2900 sqft (Maryland) and we are adding 500 sqft addition (10x50 ft) over crawlspace. HVAC contractor says I need an additional heatpump. I don't believe it, but I would like to know for sure, the model # and tonnage. Thanks for any help you can give.

There should be a sticker/tag on the corner just above where the power/line ties into the unit.

As Jay says, better to look for the M/N on the nameplate.
Here's some Trane Model Nomenclature that I hope is of some help.

Thanks for the help. I'll check it out again in the daylight and see if there is a tag that I missed. Good info!
