my tub is clogged & i cant get the stopper unscrewed. it is the type that u turn tun close & you turn to open. any thoughts ?

It should turn clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen. Not sure what else you need????? If it is old, things may be corroded or rusty and extra force may be needed.

Lift it gently and on the squared off side you will see a sunken set screw. Loosen it and it will lift off the shaft. Replacement is the reverse of removal.
