Howdy,

A friend of mine bought a house this summer & she has an Ademco panel:

Ademco SALYNXR - CR
W83208 E
C237 AM

From what I have been told it is compatible with the 5800 series of wireless items by using the installer code.

It would seem the price point for starter packages is close to $200 & we don't know how old the panel she has is or frankly if it works.

She does not have a land line & will not anytime soon, if ever.

My thoughts are to buy a new starter package & build from there as it would seem that by the time we buy a few window/door sensors & motion sensor for the current system she'll be about $40 shy of what a new starter package would run.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated as her best friend & I will probably end up with they same systems & since I will be the one doing the work one advantage would be to have the same.

Thanks!

It's just an
Ademco Lynx-R. It's a pretty basic all in one wireless based unit. As long as it hasn't been installer locked, it's ok for a small house or condo.

If you choose to change it out for one of the Vista panels, the transmitters will be compatible.
