I have a old water heater which I have tried to remove the nipples or dielectric heat traps.
What can I do to get the old nipple out before I can't get a grip on the tip. It appears to have some sort of putty of plumbers dope on it, JB weld no doubt. Is their anything I can use to release the grip on the tip such as heat or some type of chemical? :wall: :wall: :wall:

Why do you need to remove them?? If replacing the heater, use new ones. They are steel and likely well rusted in place if the heater is old. If repairing pipes, just reuse them, but make sure to use teflon tape or teflon paste on the threads.
