I notice water seeping out of a toilet at floor level, right by the mounting bolts. I shut off the water and emptied the tank and bowl as much as I could, which has slowed the seep to a bleed.
Any ideas as to what's happening, and what's the fix?
Thanks!

Compromised wax seal is my bet. Loosen the bolts and pull the unit, replacing the wax seal with a new one, and probably a thicker one with a black bell. Make sure the flange is still solidly attached to the flooring and not wobbling due to wood rot.

Turn the water off, and flush it.
Remove the toilet from the floor plate.
The beeswax ring needs replacing. Often, new ones will have air bubble voids in them. Fill any voids. Get 2 of them so you have enough to work with.
Make sure the flange isn't rusted or broken. If it is, replace that also.

Sounds like I'm on a trip to the Home Deep. Thanks for the info!

Got the toilet off the floor and found the flange in good shape. Installed a new wax ring and that did the trick.
Thanks!
