We're wanting to install crown moulding in our living room but it has popcorn ceilings. Should we remove the popcorn or can you install crown moulding over it? Also, the ceilings are standard heighth but we want them to appear taller. I heard about installing chair rails but I'm not too certain about at what level and is it a good idea if it's an open floor plan? Thank you for any input or suggestions.
