Home Automation - Wanted: Wire-in dimmer module (X10 or similar) that works with 12V transformer

Hi,

I'm trying to find in a wire-in dimmer power line communication (X10 or similar) module that works with 12V transformers for under cabinet lighting.

I found one from Leviton:

However, I found a hint on one of the websites selling it that it will not work with electronic transformers. Is this really true?

An other one is a UPB:

This would work. However, it seems somewhat pricey.

The third one I found is an Insteon:

A drawback there is that I couldn't find any controller that isn't a dimmer itself. (I'm looking for a simple wall controller,something simple like this: http://www.levitonproducts.com/catalog/dept_id_932/model_16450-4D.htm?sid=9344DE1E9EBC682A41C632290B64B94A&pid=1208)

Any input regarding transformer compatibility or other product lines is highly appreciated.

I've used dimmers on my 12v under-cab lights for years with no problems. The problem wasn't in finding a dimmer to work with the transformer -- it was making sure the light system I bought had transformers that could be dimmed.

I'm using a set of the following transformers:

I have used them before with several types of dimmers with no problem.

However, I found the following statement just with the Leviton dimmer (no other on the web site):
DHC devices will not control lighting that is used with electronic low-voltage and high frequency power transformers, nor high pressure discharge lamps (HID lighting).

As long as the transformer is an LV type it will work with dimmer switches. If it isnt, all that really happens is it will flicker alot and drive you mad instead.

What is LV? IS the WAC LV?

BTW: this was the response from Leviton:
"6376 is suitable for incandescent lamps only no magnetic transformers. "

But then again I had luck so far with dimmer-electronic transformer combinations.
