I noticed that the Aprilaire 700A cannot be installed on a horizontal flow ducting system. So, now I have a question.... Which Humidifier system would you reccomend for this application. It doesn't have to be Aprilaire brand and can be bypass or powered.
I have a 2600 sq ft 2 story home (built 2002) with 2 zone Bryant units installed in the attic. ( I will have to get the model numbers)
Please let me know if there is any other info you need.
Thanks-
Brian

First of all, I would NOT advise putting a humidifier in the Attic.. You are a high risk of water damage when the attic temps are below freezing.
All humidifier are the same.. I like Honeywell due to simple control on the HE220 or HE260 lines.
Again, I would not install this in the attic.. If you have a furnace in the basement, put it on that one, and the humidity will work it's way to the upper floor.

Jay-
Thanks for the reply. I am located in Texas and we do not get very many freezing nights here. Both of my units are in the attic, so this is the only place i can put it.
Why would the Aprilaire 700A say that it is not reccomended for horizontal flow ducts?
Thanks Again-

Ok, if you do put one in, and please keep an eye on it when and if you do get freezing temps.
I think due to the air flow (going sideways), it will not let the powered unit move the air over the pad... where an upflow furnace the air flow is going up.

I have the Honeywell By-pass on mine, and works fine for our cold winters.
I also like the by pass unit cuz there is less things to go wrong with them.
No built in controls, and fan motor.
