Good Evening Everyone,

I am trying to figure out how to add soffit vents to my roof without having soffits. My home is almost 100 yrs old and has exposed rafters on the front of the home. Do I place the soffit vents on the vertical surface? If so does anyone have any suggestions as to where and what type of vents I should get for the job. As usual, all help is greatly appreciated.

At the eaves, consider "drip edge vents":

First you have to determine how much space you have between your rafters. This will determine what size vents you can install. In most cases people will just drill holes in the board between the rafters and then box in the rafters using "F" channels and perforated vynal soffit panels.
