HI
I have a old GE electric furnace model BWE9366100EA. The system blows cold air in both the Heat pump and emergency modes. Outside unit runs in the Heat mode. I have reset all breakers on the furnance and the main service box. Thanks for any help. Air Condition mode works fine.
The system has a digital Thermostat. Is this a common relay problem? Or would I be barking up the wrong tree.

thanks

I was wondering if you guys would suspect the thermostat or one of the relays in the inside unit. Or other suggestions.
I'll probably jumper the therostat wires next, with nothing else to go on.

thanks,
-mike

You say that it runs in heat is big copper line hot to warm ???. Do you have a meter ??? Check do the elements come on in EME or AUX??? Does it go into defrost ???Or is it iced up???

Thanks Ed for you reply. No the Heat pump is not warming up the big copper line. In the Cool mode the the pipe does get cold. The Aux heat does not come on at the elements.
I was going to jumper the thermostat, but this was not a plain vanilla thermostat. It is an eight wire version, so honestly I was not sure if it was still ok to jumper R and W for heat when the thermostat wires are disconnected. The thermostat is actually a White-Rodgers model # 1F89-211.
It is jumpered for single Aux Heat I can hear the thermosat click off when you change the temperature appropriately in the different modes. I would like to rule out the thermosat ( Can it be jumpered?) , and then I assume there are some relays in the main unit that need to be tested. But I am open to suggestions. I do lots of appliance repairs and know my way around electric and electronics, but am Not an AC guy. Your help is appreciated.

thanks,
-Mike

You have a lot to look at and check then. If on heat big line should be hot. If compressor is running and if 4 way valve is working?????? And freon is ok In outdoor unit. What do you get if you turn tstat over to EME or AUX heat. all the elements should come on and not the outdoor unit????? R to W should turn on the elements. Do the heat sequencers in the unit work then ??? or get 24V power?? Look on the blower door inside . Should be a wire schematic. go over this . Should help you;)
