This evening, after using the hot water in the kitchen, all of a sudden it won't turn off all the way. I turn the handle to the off position and some continues to come out. We've tried taking the handle apart and tighten up the nut, but that hasn't helped. Not sure what to do next. It was fine earlier today. Any help is appreciated.

The washer, or sealing device is likely bad. There are books at home/hardware stores that can teach you about simple plumbing repairs. We can advise you here, but there are several basic types of washers in a faucet, and all are different. Is there a brand name??.
