Hello :
I have an old Z2100 Moose keypad/system that after a long power failure (Hurracaine Wilma in FL) seemed to have lost the ability to communicate to my monitoring company (Protection One). In the keypad I see "Failed to Communicate". I am sure the phone line that is hooked up to the board is fine. Must be that the phone number it uses to "call home" was wiped out. Can anyone point me to a resource on how to program the number back into this unit? I still have the user codes for the system and they work on as I can still arm/disarm the alarm.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
tks!

Z2100 is the keypad model. It was used on a couple of the moose alarm systems. What _system_ is it attached to? Without the proper model, we cannot help you much.

Hello MrRonFL, Understood, I just looked at the box where the board is and it says Moose Z2000 on the inside of the box cover with a picture describing all the electronic components...so I have to assume that the board/system is a Z2000.
I dont know much (of anything) about alarm systems, but does Z2000 sound like the system you are asking about?

thanks!!!!

Yes, Z2000 is the model number (it's one of 3 that use this keypad, by the by).

Are you _sure_ that the phone line is live to this panel? Have you checked for dial tone at the jack that the panel dialer plugs into? Has any other thing in your home phone configuration been changed? Often, for example, when people go to digital/VOIP telephone, they accidentally cut the alarm system out of the loop.

This was one of the last models Moose put out before they folded, and it's a fairly high end design, even by current standards. The telephone information is in an eeprom, and loss of power doesn't erase it. I would verify the presence of a live phone line, first.

To even _think_ of monkeying with the programming of this thing you will need the installer manual: Run a websearch using the phrase "Moose Z2000 installer manual".

You will probably have to pay a download fee. This was an uncommon system, and there just aren't likely to be many site with it available, and those that do will charge for the download (bandwidth and storage isn't free, you know...).

As mentioned in the original thread, Z2100 is the _keypad_ model. What _system_ is this keypad attached to? This keypad was used on 3 different Moose Z-series systems: Z-1100 system II, Z-1100E and Z-2000.
